Studio Policies

Tuition & Payment

  • Tuition is due at the beginning of each lesson unless otherwise approved by the Instructor of Music

  • Payments may be made via Cash, Check, Venmo, or PayPal.

  • If lessons are funded by a donor, the Instructor of Music will work out details with said party and not through the student/parent/guardian

Scheduling and Cancellation

  • The Instructor of Music and the prospective student will schedule lessons to take place during mutually agreed-upon times.

  • 24 hr notice for cancellation is required unless it is a family emergency or anything of that nature. Failure to do so will result in a fully charged lesson fee and the potential but not guaranteed option to make up the cancelled lesson.

  • Refunds will only be made at the sole discretion of the Instructor of Music.

Practice Expectations

  • Students are expected to practice at least 10 minutes per day, 4-5 days per week.

  • Parents of young students should assist with scheduling and encouraging practice.

  • Progress is directly tied to consistent practice and engagement.

Virtual Learning

  • With the advancements of technology in the 21st century, virtual learning is equally as effective as in-person learning. Students will need access to a capable device, high-speed internet connection, and access to a piano/keyboard or organ.

  • Under NO circumstances will a student’s personal device be used for private music instruction and/or communication if the student is under the age of 18. This is to protect both the student and the instructor of music. A parent’s/guardian’s device MUST be used for lessons and communication, or lessons will simply not be able to occur.

  • Technology should not be used as a source of distraction during lessons. Students must maintain focus, interest, and discipline as they would during in-person learning.

These policies will be signed by the student, parent/guardian, and teacher at the beginning of the first or second lesson and will be upheld during the learning process. Additional questions or concerns are encouraged to be discussed before all parties sign the policies agreement.
